The European Association for Data Science (EuADS) aims to provide a setting for fostering communication and cooperation among all stakeholders of data science. It is a forum for research, scientific conduct, promoting transparent access to data, policy making as well as support of young scientists. Scientifically, the Association promotes the development of models, methods and instruments of data science and provides a unique environment for the presentation and discussion of new methods and models in this field. With regard to networking, it aims to bring together stakeholders and decision-makers in this field to address the challenges of data science in the 21st century.

#The fourth EuADS summer school will take place from June 18th to 21th, 2024.

#The third EuADS Summer School will take place as an in-person event from June 7th to June 9th, 2023. On June 6th the EuADS Symposium will take place as a hybrid event.

#The European Conference on Data Analysis (ECDA), of which EuADS is a stakeholder, takes place July 5th to 7th 2023 at the University of Antwerpen.

#The EuADS Summer School “Data Science for Social Media” has ended. It was a very successful event and we thank all the speakers and organizers.

#The EuADS annual general meeting has elected a new board. Eyke Hüllermeier is the new president of the association.

#The first of the EuADS Talks on Data Science is online.

#The annual general meeting of EuADS will take place on June 14th.

# DSSV-ECDA 2021: The 2021 editions of the conference Data Science, Statistics & Visualisation (DSSV) and the European Conference on Data Analysis (ECDA) will be held as a joint virtual conference DSSV-ECDA 2021.The conference will be held online on July 7-9, 2021, hosted by the Erasmus University Rotterdam. DSSV-ECDA 2021 is a joint virtual conference aimed at bringing together researchers and practitioners interested in the interplay of statistics, computer science, and visualization, and to build bridges between these fields for interdisciplinary research. It is a satellite event of the 63rd ISI World Statistics Congress 2021, and it is promoted by the International Association for Statistical Computing (IASC), the Gesellschaft für Klassifikation (GfKl) – Data Science Society, the European Association for Data Science (EuADS), and the Dutch/Flemish Classification Society (VOC).

# On Friday November 27th the EuADS General Assembly took place. For the first time, this has held digitally.

# On December 6th the 2019 EuADS General Assembly took place. Among other topics a new board has been elected.

# EuADS presents a symposium titled “Data for All: Data Science and the Human Factor” which will be held on September 10th in the Chambre de Commerce in Luxembourg. Featured speaker is C. Bishop. The symposium is free, but a registration is require. More information can be found here. It will also be the opening event of the EuADS summer school on explainable data science.

# International data science and analysis conference of the IFCS in Thessaloniki, Greece, 26-29 August 2019.

The IFCS 2019 conference theme is ‘Data Analysis and Rationality in a Complex World’. The conference opening will take place on August 26 late afternoon and pre-conference workshops will be held in the morning. The conference sessions will start on August 27 in the morning, and will close on August 29 with a full day conference program. The conference will include a President’s invited session and a Presidential address, invited presentations, invited and contributed sessions.

# On September 20th 2019 the workshop on Automating Data Science will take place in Würzburg (Germany) as part of the European Conference on Machine Learning and Principles and Practice of Knowledge Discovery in Databases.

# Following on from the European Data Science Conference held in in November 2016 in Luxembourg, the editorial for the follow-on special issue of the Journal for Data Science and Analytics has now been published and is accessible here. The editorial ends with an In Memoriam for Professor Sabine Krolak-Schwerdt, the inaugural President of the European Association for Data Science and the general Chair of EDSC.
